The Networker Reporter

As a minister I’m sometimes with other ministers and pastors that I have never met before in my life. A ministry collogue of mine told me how she got over her shyness and the awkwardness in these situations, and a think that her method can be applied to business networking as well. Her method is simple, when she is with people she doesn’t know and conversation is required, she plays the reporter. That is, she imagines a badge hung on her neck that says “Reporter.” Then she interviews others with questions and listens. At today’s meeting we will play the reporter and interview each other with selected questions. At the end of the session, if time remains, we report back to the chapter what we learned about our interviewee. Please note, these questions can be used at your next networking event, and this workshop is also important for relationship building, and business referral generation.
